2007/08/30 16:29 Well, Im back, not in mind, just in body. I woke up today at 3 pm. I start a new job tonight, its working nights so its perfect that I just came back from the west coast. cuz the west coast is the best coast
Im going to just throw out some random stories from Vegas, just a little entertainment for those of you that read what I put on here.
1) The first day and a half that I was in Vegas, I hated it. It was hot, the wind was hot, I didnt know where anything was, I walked like 4 miles down the road to see a friend from facebook play. It just wasnt fun.
2) When we got into the actual team tournament, there was a big "W" beside my name. My matches had to be watched by an official to make sure I was in the correct handicap grouping. That was quite fantastic, not only is there 50 people watching but someone 'grading' my ability. I even rocked my white dress pants, which were pretty fantastic.
3) I played in a few mini tournaments, I played well. I was playing against one specific player. His name was Fabian Maxey, thats the only name I remember. After our match (I won), he shakes my hand and asks me what other mini's I have left, I tell him. He proceeds to walk up to the control desk and sell every single mini that we were supposed to be in together. Talk about a compliment. Other then that, nothing interesting happened in the minis. I ripped the shit out of everyone I played, was a nice little ego stroker for me.
4) I did a bit of gambling without much luck. I put $30 into this $1 wheel of fortune game and hit the jackpot on the wheel portion, $1000. Not a bad day. This is where the gambling COULD have stopped. Playing $25 slot machines wasnt a great idea at all. hahaha.
5) I hadnt played cards in a good long while. I sat down and played on a no-limit table. The way I play is quite odd, Im very honest at the table, I'll even tell other players that Im playing what I have in the hole. I dont quite understand why even if I tell them, they still dont believe me. Oh well, its their money. *which in turn, turns into MY money* One specific hand, a player raises to $25, I go over the top to $50, he goes back over the top of me and raises a $100 onto of my bet. Wow, I lean back in my chair, put my hands on my head and take a deep deep breath. Im thinking to myself, "I dont want to call, thats a lot of cheddar on the table. What could he possibly have? Are my cards good enough? Fuck, I could go for a hotdog right now" So after all that goes through my head, I lean into the table and go all in. $457, he calls right away, flips over pocket kings. Thats a big hand, I flop over my aces and he mutters "fuck" under his breath. Nothing came of the board, my aces held up but it was pretty scary to think that much cash on one hand could have been gone.
6) We decided to go out clubbing. Oh god. Bang and I went to Tangerine at Treasure Island one night, what a dive. Given, it was a Wednesday. We ended up leaving there and heading to Forty Deuce, it was like the size of my basement. Ew. We left there and headed to The Mix, both clubs were at Mandalay Bay. Mix was FANTASTIC, it was on the 65th floor overlooking the strip. There are pictures posted below of the view from the patio at the bar. We didnt stay long, just had a look and headed back to our hotel.
7) Kevin, Kristin and I were going to go clubbing on Friday. We had passes to Moon at The Palms, we show up, no problem. Just get in line with our passes. The line was 3 fucking hours long. Fuck that. BUT WAIT! For $100 you can skip the line to pay $8 for a beer, no thanks. We ended up at New York New York going to Coyote Ugly. Kevin only had his health card and they wouldnt let him in. (he is 37) We trek all the way back to the hotel and Kevin and I head to Studio 54 at MGM. It was pretty kickin, I danced for a couple hours. I would go back there again.
Those are all my stories for now, I should be there again in April for singles. Everyone is invited to come and make NEW stories, since I know the city better, I know what to do and what to avoid now.
